The Belgian eSports Federation (BeSF) and the Lotto national team players have arrived at the Hilton Istanbul Bomonti where the Global Esports Games 2022 will take place. Richard 'PiKaH' Donders will compete in <a href="/teams/street-fighter">Street Fighter</a> while our new representative, Mikail 'FETIH1453ElTurco' Gonen, will compete in <a href="/teams/eFootball">eFootball</a>.&nbsp;Our eFootball representative, Jon 'Milan7Jon' Bruno, was unfortunately unable to join the tournament due to a broken wrist. We wish him a speedy recovery.&nbsp;The first stages of the festivities start today: PiKaH will face the island of Guam under the Belgian tricolour flag and Mikail Gonen will face Djibouti in a BO3 format.&nbsp;Let's wish the best to our Lotto National Team!

With a background that includes playing for the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Summer League and an extensive career across Europe, Manu brings a wealth of knowledge from both traditional sports and his growing passion for Esports.<blockquote>"After I met Manu for the first time, I directly understood his important role in a basketball team. The Belgian Esports Federation (BESF) is thrilled to welcome Nalin Chaturvedi as the new Vice-Chair of the Player Engagement and Community Development Commission. With experience across six countries and three continents, Nalin has made his mark in the sports, entertainment, and esports industries. His background, which includes semi-professional football in India and coaching, has been instrumental in shaping his approach to building strong communities and connections within the esports world.Nalin’s journey in esports began in South India, where he organized local LAN tournaments. Later, he co-founded an esports coaching company in Iceland, focusing on promoting positive social values through gaming. His work at the Rio 2016 Olympics deepened his passion for sports, leading him to pursue further opportunities in event operations and sports retail. His multifaceted experience allows him to blend his traditional sports expertise with modern esports trends seamlessly.A major milestone in Nalin’s career was his time at the International Olympic Committee (IOC), where he contributed to athlete engagement efforts at major global sporting events, including the Tokyo 2020 and Beijing 2022 Olympics. He played a pivotal role in shaping the IOC’s virtual sports strategy and helped organize the inaugural Olympic Virtual Series in 2021, marking a significant intersection between traditional sports and esports on the Olympic stage.Currently working with ESL FACEIT Group, one of the world’s leading esports tournament organizers, Nalin manages relationships with game publishers and supports the growth of global esports ecosystems. His recent involvement in the first-ever Esports World Cup in Saudi Arabia further highlights his expertise in the field. At BESF, Nalin will focus on energizing local esports communities and deepening player engagement, strengthening Belgium's vibrant esports landscape. &nbsp;
