The European Games Esports Championships 2023 will feature several renowned multi-genre global titles, with the Event set to be an exciting #worldconnected initiative made possible by the support, energy, and active participation of our esports athletes from around Europe.
eFootball athletes are ready to shine
The BESF delegation will make its mark in the efootball category, participating in both the men's and women's divisions. Mikail Goonen, the reigning champion of the Belgian championship, will proudly represent Belgium in the men's efootball tournament. After falling short in the group stage during the previous edition, Mikail is determined to clinch a medal and bring glory to the Belgian esports community.
Vanessa Peersmans, a rising star in Belgian esports, just back from FIFA Bootcamp in Zurich, will showcase her skills and compete against some of Europe's most talented female players in the women's division. Her selection for the BESF delegation reflects her dedication and hard work, as she aspires to leave a lasting impact on the European Games Esports Championships.
Minor setback but ready for the next event
While originally planning to compete in both efootball and Rocket League, the BESF unfortunately had to withdraw from the Rocket League competition due to unforeseen administrative circumstances. Despite this setback, the BESF remains resilient and determined to participate in future Rocket League events. future for Belgian esports.
